Two members of the 5-HT2 family of serotonin receptors (5-HT2A and 5-HT2C receptors) are implicated in the control of physiological processes such as cognition, appetite and mood and in the action of antipsychotic and hallucinogenic drugs. Our studies combine multidisciplinary approaches ranging from molecular biology to animal behavior to define the mechanisms of normal and abnormal regulation of the structure and function of these G protein-coupled receptors.
